Science Day at School(Subject Related Activity)

QUIZ COMPETITION

INTRODUCTION

Teachers are the one who can share their scientific knowledge and improve them in students. We celebrate many days related to science for commemorating many legendary scientists and their contributions to this world which can motivate students to increase their aptitude towards science and its use in our daily life.

One such day is National Science Day. National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

National Science Day is being observed on 28th of February.

In 1986, the National Council for Science and Technology (NCSTC) asked the Government of India to designate February 28 as National Science Day. The event is now celebrated all over India in schools, colleges, universities and other academic, scientific, technical, medical and research institutions. On the occasion of the first NSD (National Science Day)(26 February 2020 ) NCSTC announced the institution of the National Science Popularization awards for recognizing outstanding efforts in the area of science and communication.

As part of National Science day we conducted a quiz competition for our students. 14 students participated in the quiz. All were from 8th standard.
