WEEK 1 ( 05 JANUARY - 07 JANUARY)

05 JANUARY 2022

Today was my first day at school as a teacher and was so excited. I reached the school by 9:30 am.

Then we took charge for checking the temperature and giving sanitizer to students and staffs. After attending the prayer at 9:45 am we went to Head Mistress office and marked our attendance. We were asked to sit at the staff room by the Head Mistress. All the teachers and staffs were very friendly.

I met my in-charge Shyama teacher and asked for more portions to be taken in order to complete my lesson plan.

Today I was having no classes to take. I was assigned to take classes on second day of shift 1 and shift 2 i.e. Tuesday and Friday respectively for class VIII E. The school timing was from 10 am to 1 pm, so we left the school by 1 pm after marking our afternoon attendance.

06 JANUARY 2022

I reached the school by 9:30 am. As soon as we reached, we started checking the temperature and gave sanitizer to students and staffs. After the prayer we marked our attendance and went to the staff room. Even though I was having no class to take today but I got a chance to meet the class 8. With this I got an introduction with the students. Everyone was present at the class. I went to the class and asked about the previous classes that they have attended on the subject Chemistry. All students were very much interactive. I gave small works to them to do and everyone did it well. By 12:45pm the class got over and by 1pm we all went back home after marking our afternoon attendance.

07 JANUARY 2022

I was unable to go to school because my father was tested Covid positive and I was under home quarantine from today. But today I got chance to take an online class to my students from home. I was so happy because that was my first class. The class was assigned in the evening at 7:15 pm. The duration of the class was 45 minutes. Before the class Shyama teacher asked me to create a Whats App group in order to forward the google meet link to all and to give notes if any. There are 43 students in class VIII E. I put the link by 7:00pm and students start joining by 7. The class went well. Students were very cooperative and responded to everything I asked them. Today’s topic was Solute, Solvent and Solution from chapter Solutions. The class ended by 7:45pm.

WEEK 2 (10 JANUARY - 15 JANUARY)

I was tested Covid positive

WEEK 3 (17 JANUARY - 21 JANUARY)

I took an online class on January 19. The topic for the class was 'Concentration of solution'. Since the class was online I took the class with the support of Power point Presentation and also activities was also shown in between. Review questions were asked and follow up activities were also given and asked to send their homework to Whats App group.

On 21 JANUARY schools were closed due to increase in Covid cases.

WEEK 4 ( 24 JANUARY - 29 JANUARY)

On 26 January I arranged an online class from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. the topic was 'Saturated Solution and Unsaturated Solutions'. The class was taken with the support of Power point Presentation and videos explaining the concept of both saturated and unsaturated solutions are also shown to the students.

WEEK 5 (31 JANUARY - 04 FEBRUARY)

On February 02 I took an online class. The topic was Supersaturated solutions and factors affecting solubility

WEEK 6 (07 FEBRUARY - 11 FEBRUARY)

There were two classes in this week. one was on 07 FEBRUARY and the other was on 09 FEBRUARY. On 07th I took two classes on the topics Growing Crystals and Classification of Mixtures. On 09th the class was on the topic True solution, Suspension and Colloids.

WEEK 7( 21 FEBRUARY - 18 FEBRUARY)

The schools reopened after long days on 14 FEBRUARY. I was so excited because I went to school only for 2 days, rest of the classes were online. I reached the school by 9:30 am on 14th.

I was having classes on 15th and 18th in school. In between i took an online class on 17th. It was the day on 15th I met my students face to face for the first time . It was the shift 1 students. My class was during the second period. I reached the class on time. But I doesn't felt like going there for the first time. Students were very cooperative. Some of the students who didn't attend the online class due to network issues asked my name. After a short introduction and casual talk I started my class. I was so surprised that everyone listened to me patiently and in between there were some students talking but still I managed to make them sit quiet.

On 18th we all went to our college for taking group photos and a meeting to discuss about the upcoming college camp

WEEK 8 (21 FEBRUARY - 25 FEBRUARY)

From 21st onward the school classes came back to normal i.e. from morning 10:00 am to evening 3:30 pm. There were two periods for me in a week. One period was on Monday 5th hour and Thursday 3rd hour. In between we asked permission to conduct a quiz on National Science Day on February 28th to the HM and she granted the permission.

On 21st afternoon first hour was mine and I went to VIII E. I am so happy with my class because all students were very comparative and they listen to me well. Since the entire 8th divisions were accommodated in a single large room with screen separating them there were a lot of disturbance for teaching. The sound from other classes disturbed the students. Students itself gave complaint about the noise that they cannot concentrate on their learning. I felt so sad about that and also we need to strain a lot to teach them. I conducted Diagnostic Test as well as Achievement Test to students this week.

On 24th I had the 3rd period and taught them. The week went well. Serving of food was done well. In between I took online class as well in order to complete my portions because I was assigned only two classes a week. We had classes on Saturday as well.

WEEK 9 - 28 FEBRUARY

This was our last week of teaching practice. I went to school a little earlier. I was having class on 5th period. Before the class, me with my friends went to buy something for the students we taught. I bought munch for my students and we have ordered a snack and tea for all teachers also. I went to my class. Students were all happy. I gave the answer sheets of achievement test to everyone. Chocolates were distributed in between and took photos with my kids. They all were so happy. Some students sung songs and even I sung one for them and it made me even more happier. After that period we went to give the snacks to teachers and staffs and everyone blessed us to get good jobs and to go high in life. That made my day and I was so happy hearing their words. All teachers were so cooperative and on each day I noticed something is each one of the teachers put smile always in their face when they see us. After saying good bye to everyone we stepped out of the school hoping we will get the same school on our next teaching practice.
